Mining

Operational control for mines and heavy industry

Zamatrack helps South African mines secure large perimeters and manage big shift-based workforces. Worxit combines guard patrols, contractor and visitor access control, biometric time and attendance, incident logging and nationwide push-to-talk radios, running on rugged devices built for dust, heat and long shifts.

The problem

What slows mining down?

The same issues come up in almost every conversation we have with teams like yours.

Vast perimeters

Patrol verification and guard communication are difficult over the distances a mine covers.

High contractor volumes

Hundreds of contractors come and go each day, and each must be identified, inducted and tracked.

Attendance fraud

Buddy clocking and manual timesheets inflate payroll across large shift-based workforces.

Harsh conditions

Consumer phones fail in dust, heat and drops, so hardware keeps needing replacement.

End to end

How do the modules fit together for mining?

Each module closes one link in the chain. Together they cover the whole operation, from the gate to the report.

  1. 01

    Control who gets on site

Contractors, visitors and vehicles are scanned at the boom, with inductions and documents checked at the point of entry.

  2. 02

Put the right people on shift

Biometric clock-ins stop buddy clocking across large shift-based workforces and feed accurate hours to payroll.

  3. 03

    Prove the work happened

Perimeter and plant patrols are verified at NFC checkpoints with GPS, across distances no supervisor can walk.

  4. 04

Capture and escalate what goes wrong

Incidents are logged with photographs and location, and push-to-talk reaches the control room anywhere with coverage.

  5. 05

Fix it and close the loop

Faults found on patrol become work orders routed to the maintenance team with the evidence attached.

  6. 06

    Account for assets and stock

Radios, scanners and equipment are issued against a person, and stock movements are recorded as they happen.

  7. 07

    Report to whoever needs it

Management and head office get attendance, access and incident reporting from a single set of records.

Start with one link in the chain and add the rest as you go. Every module shares the same dashboard, users and reports, so nothing has to be rebuilt later.

FAQ

Mining: common questions

Which devices work in harsh environments?

Zamatrack supplies rugged Android hardware, such as the RuggedTab R8 and Inrico i10 PTT radio, built for dust, drops and long shifts.

How does push-to-talk work without radio towers?

GSM PTT radios use the cellular network, so guards and supervisors can talk wherever there is mobile coverage. No repeaters or radio licences are needed.

Can attendance data feed into payroll?

Yes. Biometric time and attendance records can be exported to support payroll processing and overtime calculations.
